Your sanctuary awaits
On our grateful walk,a hermit crab came to connect with me.
I thought about her journey
of choosing a hard shell
to protect her softness and sensitivities
and how as she grows
what was once meant to protect her
now confines her.
She must then
become vulnerable
to leave behind
what once served her
to move into
the sanctuary
for her heart
that awaits.
May today find you
trusting in your soul’s compass
to become unattached,
release confining walls,
and explore outside of your shell
as many times as needed
to find sanctuary
for your heart.
