An invitation to Wisdom
Share

On a recent grateful walk,
I found myself celebrating the quiet wisdom
of people, animals, and nature—
the kind that is so often overlooked.
In my work as a counselor, I often listen for the quiet wisdom children carry…,
and recently a six-year-old said to me,
“Peace can be found
by the human spirit connecting.”
I asked him how he knew this.
He smiled and said,
“My heart knows.”
Another day,
I found myself pulled into the sting
of someone’s harsh words—
until Bella’s smile
and her joyful invitation to play
gently brought me back.
When we arrived home,
we sat and watched caterpillars
nourishing themselves on milkweed.
I was reminded that even when the plant
looks like it has been stripped bare,
it returns—
stronger, fuller, and ready to bloom again.
May today find you
releasing what was never yours to carry…
and returning to what matters.
The wisdom of an old soul in a young body.
The healing that lives in play.
The quiet truth that giving all you have
in service of your purpose
does not deplete you—
it strengthens you.
